Beaches Recovery

Beaches Recovery provides full continuum of care through a comprehensive, holistic system of psychiatric services, individualized therapy, family therapy, education, and the development of healthy lifestyle skills.

Areas of Specialization:

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
EMDR is a highly specific, research-validated form of therapy that can help people overcome traumatic stress, anxiety and depression. With EMDR, a trained practitioner uses bilateral stimulation, eye movement and touch to stimulate parts of the brain as a patient recounts certain experiences and memories as a way to more thoroughly process uncomfortable, painful feelings.
  • Individualized Treatment
Some facilities have an addiction treatment protocol that all patients or clients are expected to follow, while others customize or individualize treatment based on a person’s unique needs and circumstances. Factors that may affect treatment decisions include age, lifestyle, medical conditions, type of drug, religious beliefs, etc.

Medical detox is not available on-site, but the facility offers assistance with a sub-acute detoxification center nearby.

This facility uses the 12-Steps alongside a variety of evidence-based and holistic treatment modalities, and stresses that each treatment program is highly individualized.

Treatment is gender-specific, and all programs include individual and group therapy, including evidence-based modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR). There’s also a family program and holistic offerings such as equine therapy, and drama/music therapy. The facility’s website notes that fitness is a big part of treatment and as such, fitness assessments, fitness classes, yoga, and personal training are among the services offered. The women’s program has a special focus on trauma, grief, sexual abuse, and body image issues. There are also specialized, discreet programs for first responders and executives.

The facility’s website details a partial hospitalization program (PHP) that includes daily group therapy as well as individual therapy. An intensive outpatient program (IOP) and general outpatient programming are also available.

This is an 80-bed facility with some private rooms. Photos published on the facility’s website show homey décor, and the facility reports that there’s access to outdoor training space and that dietary preferences will be included for the private meals.

Fees are determined on a sliding-scale basis, and according to the facility’s website, most insurances are accepted including Aetna, Cigna, and United. Financial assistance is not available.
